WIP - Precious Opal

Yep. This is a work in progress. There will be even more layers of color and even, (*le~GASP!*) a background! I'm going all out for this one.

I wanted to draw something that was more fantasy-like than some of the Fashion Illustrations I've been doing lately. That, and although I love my inks and watercolors I've been missing my Prismacolor pencils, which is all I've been using for this so far.

I was trying for a kind of Art Nouveau look but then I became inspired by Brian Froud and his organic/flowery tendrils of awesome which can be explained by her interesting Fascinator and her luminescence which I hope to keep intact when I'm done with the background - which I intend to keep simple.

So far I'm pleased with how this is turning out. I also really really want her hair.
